it's definitely a grabbed shot.  i was standing in the vestibule of an 
abandoned store downtown, photographing derelict mannequins through the 
glass, when i saw him out of the corner of my eye.  i got a shot off as 
quickly as i could focus.

thanks for the complement and comments.  i'm really enjoying the xpan.  
the movies are one of the things that got me into photography in the 
first place--"lawrence of arabia," specifically--and i am really 
enjoying "seeing" and shooting in something like panavision.
