The R4 "Mk5" models were the stinkers. Basically the first 10 000 R4
cameras most of which were labeled R4-Mot. My repair guy charges $550+
CAN to do a CLA and only offers a three month warranty on what he
touched.
The R4 "Mk9" and up are reliable and easier to work on. He only charges
$350 CAN for a CLA and the year long warranty is not restricted. This
is the same for the rest of the R line though the R3 is a touch more
expensive. All prices are extrapolated from my last repair price list.
