Subject: [Leica] Even Us Natives Don't Write English Good
From: buzz.hausner at verizon.net (Buzz Hausner)

Someone once accused John Simon of being overly critical of his
colleague's syntax and diction, especially for someone who spoke English
as a second language. Simon replied that English was not his second
language, it was his fifth.

I add my applause for all the non-native speakers who join the LUG
dialogue in English. I only wish a couple of us native English speakers
made even the smallest effort at writing clearly.

I feel the people on this list who have english as not their first
language
make for a definite addition to the LUG. -- We'd be nothing without
them.
For one reason it makes us try to be more clear so maybe the people
whose
first language is English can understand us. (a perfect example of a
sentence even I can not understand) And I love the dialects.

And I've gone down as saying numerous times Felix is one of my LUG
favorites
His are some of the first posts I read.
Every morning with my cornflakes and bananas.
