Not true, B.D.!  Carl at Park Square Camera and Ara at New England Photo
give you the same prices on new Leica bodies, lenses and accessories as
given by B. & H.  Granted, one must pay our 5% sales tax, but no
shipping costs.  If you ever have trouble with an item, both Carl and
Ara will exchange it or give you a full refund with a smile and a
handshake, no questions asked.  Nota bene, though, I cannot comment on
the prices that our locals shops offer on non-Leica equipment.

As to used equipment and exotica...a trip to Ara's shop in Arlington is
a trip to the candy shop.

I'm all for supporting local dealers - the problem, however, is that
doing so often becomes a charitable exercise, given price differentials
between the local dealers and a place like B&H for new equipment, and
KEH or the like for used. It's one thing to pay a few bucks extra when
what you need is a last-minute couple rolls of film, camera strap, or a
few batteries - but when the stakes rise....

I will have to echo Kits words here.  A dealer who spends the time to
create a customer is by far the most important part of the purchase.  I
also prefer to support local dealers when possible.  Unfortunately here
in Small Town USA - Cedar Rapids, I have no Leica Dealer, My wife likes
that part of living here ;-).  When I went to purchase my M6TTL I did
not know of Kit or Rich and purchased it from Calumet, they had the
equipment. Since then I found the LUG and along with it I found Kit and
Rich, and several others.  I have purchased form Rich, and I'm sure I
will buy from Kit at some time in the future.  Both have spent the time
helping me with various items and are at the top of my list for future
purchases.
