Friday FS- M2/50 & M4

M2 Beautiful User, LR/ST, vulcanite in good condition, mechanics work great,
silky advance, counter works fine, shutter is very quiet, one of the
quietest I?ve heard. There are bright marks, fine nicks/dings, not dents,
but definitely well used top plate. Rangefinder is clear and bright. This is
a beauty of a camera except for the cosmetics of the top; typical flash
removal scratch from a previous owner. Missing the bw/color film indicator
on the back door dial. This body is from1963, serial #1,087,xxx. $600.

50 Summicron DR, the more rare close focus 19? w eyes. The previous LUG
owner described it as mint. Cosmetically the barrel is indeed very nice and
would look fine as a display. Smooth focus and accurate detents. Glass has
cleaning scratches and a rub mark on the coating of the rear element- which
don?t seem to impair the excellent attributes of this lens. It is a fine
performer, a user rather than a collectable, though it does look good.
Matching serial numbers on the barrel. The eyes work and are included but
have a crack and separation. Older style shade: Summaron 3.5cm/Summicron
5cm. Serial #1,476,xxx. $325.

M4 Mint- A true beauty, one of the cleanest I?ve seen. Everything is fine
about this chrome body; shutter speeds checked and are within tolerance and
the closest to perfect of all my older M bodies. There is one small mark on
the advance lever, shiny, not a bright mark nor an actual scratch into the
metal. The window is a bit hazy and would clean up fine to make this as
close to mint as you are likely to find. Serial #1,214,xxx suggests it is
one of the last in the 1968 production run. $1,400.

50 Summicron Rigid, chrome, #1,511,xxx, Mint- a tiny scratch by the f4
number prevents me from listing this as mint. The glass was cleaned recently
and is beautiful. This vintage lens performs magnificently. E. Leitz NY SL
filter, 12585H shade, front and rear cap included at $650.

50 Summicron Collapsible, chrome, Mint. Recent cla confirms this lens to be
a beauty. Serial# 1,231,xxx, Leica UVa filter 13132, shade 12549, front and
rear cap included at $600.

Either of these classic Summicrons would be beautiful on the M4 and would
make a stunning package.
