If you're using "magic" to refer to technical means of illusion - I agree that magic is being used right along with photoshop. Any professional studio/commercial photographer (or special fx folks) know the tricks of the trade. And photoshop (and/or other graphics app's) simply make the use of the traditional "magic" tricks a bit easier and quicker to the illusions.

Photoshop is not "evident" in every sample. However it's very evident in some of them. Examine the areas of the image "under" the figures. You can't miss the focus shifts and repeat patterns which come with quick and dirty use of cloning tools. And I believe if Kyle would forward you a hi-res file and you took a really close look - the artifacts would become quite obvious in some of the examples. Others of the examples appear much more well done in these respects.
