But now at the last minute, we are having discussions about screen size assumptions. A few years ago, everyone designed for 640x480. Now everyone assumes 800x600. For this portfolio site, we came up with a design that is optimized for 1024x768. I believe that it's difficult to show the quality of a photo at less than 600 pixels on the long edge. And since this is a portfolio site, I want to show the images to best effect. That means a design optimized for 1024x768. I'm concerned about alienating people with 800x600 displays (editors, etc), but at the same time, would like the best "fidelity" for users with 1024x768 displays or better. My questions for the group are: 1) How many of you are now using displays with less than 800x600 resolution? 2) And for those of you who are, are you planning to upgrade to 1024x768 or above in the near future? Any opinions on the topic would be most welcome. Thanks for your input, - --Jim Laurel - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
