bringing us back to the age of disco...

in 1975 when leica dropped the M-line completely, was the intent
at that time to retool to build the M4-2 in canada in 1977, or was that idea
an afterthought?  and why did they release the fabulous f1.0 noctilux in 1976 
when they had no camera with which to use it?
