Subject: RE: [Leica] OT - Polaroid SprintScan 4000 question

I have had all these problems with mine. Bumping occurred once when I was using very curly negs. Whenever it acts up I run the brush through it and put the compressed air to it. It has helped every time.

the 'media bumping' error is well known and is sometimes cause by dust
on a sensor within the scanner itself. This can also cause the scanner
to misidentify the neg carrier as the slide carrier.

If you have the cojones you can take off the housing and use an air
blower to clean everything you can see (gently) especially in the film
path.

It can also be caused by inserting the film carrier at a slightly odd
angle.
