Everyone talks about the "instant-return mirror" of the III. With mine, the RETURN rate of the 
mirror depends on how fast or slowly your finger allows the release arm to rise after exposure. It 
is not automatic. The difference in the two modes (on mine at least) is in how the mirror RISES: 
either slowly as you depress the release arm, or quickly/automatically, just before the shutter fires.

Is there something awry with mine?
