As to the Kiev 4, after you use it you will wonder how Leica ever survived the thirties. It may be heresy on this list, but a Contax II is easier to use (loading, shutter speeds, rangefinder), the lenses were better(35 Biogon, 50 Sonnar, 85 Sonnar, and 135 Sonnar) than what Leica was offering. The only areas Leica was superior is that the contemporary III (F) was a lot smaller and possibly quieter and it has a jewel like build/design that delights whereas the Contax is more like a well designed hammer. Don, ducking from the rocks coming my way. dorysrus@mindsprign.com - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Neal Friedenthal Sent: Saturday, December 20, 2003 12:28 AM To: Rollei users group; leica users group Subject: [Leica] I wish that Leica and Rollei I wish that Leica and Rollei made a camera this good at this price. I know that I'm beginning to sound like a broken record , but this Kiev is a blast and I love the results. Last weekend we went to a friends farm to get our Christmas tree and took a few shots. first shot shows his main barn cir. 1750 and the corn crib, that's his Grandson trying to keep warm http://photoneal.com/photos/misc/tn/pf1.jpg.html The corn crib doubles as the Christmas shop http://photoneal.com./photos/misc/tn/cccs1.jpg.html Finally my friend, John, retired and became a farmer http://photoneal.com/photos/misc/tn/jp1.jpg.html I'm now playing with a Kiev 4 contax clone 35mm, we'll see what it can do Neal F - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
