Gene--

I think it's a misconception that some folks are always complaining, (even
the ones who do have to eat and sleep sometime!). I think it is the very
idea that in the U.S., it is possible to have a good life, for some in
reality, for others, for a variety of reasons, only in theory, and in so
many ways, that makes it so that some feel compelled to push for
improvement. We know we are capable of so much more. It's a bit like
encouraging your child to do her/his best at school ... instead of settling
for just "okay," we encourage that one does his/her "best." We know we can
do better, don't we? Sure we do. ;-)

Yes, but every once in a while it is nice to just be thankful instead of
continuously complaining. I'm not saying we cannot strive to make
improvements or change to fix the things which need fixing. Yes, We have
lots to fix yet, but we really have it pretty darn good here. You can
recognize the good and still not descend into a stupor of complacency.

You know, there is absolutely nothing un-patriotic about pushing for
change,
pointing out our considerable problems in our country, and trying to make
things better. That's why we exist as a country in the first place.
Revolutionaries shooting at their oppressors and dumping their goods into
the bay. Yes, we can be thankful, but we can also point out when we've gone
astray. To do otherwise is to descend into a stupor ... well, we've already
descended into one, so much so that when someone points it out, others say,
"like it or leave it!" Too bad, really.

Well you can be cynical if you want and complain, but I personally am
thankful for where I live, what I have, believe what I want, and can do
what I want. This country may not be perfect or very popular right now,
but you do have a choice - You can always leave and go somewhere else, some
have. I'll stay right here.

Which we will then distill into spirits that can addict their
population much as it has ours leading to death , despair so deep that
only gambling mega-casinos could be used to uplift the population. So
.......kids what did we learn from today's lesson? Be careful who's

will become Casino Barons.
