It's not what they are already doing. It seems to me that kind of progression has happened before. The Contax G series was the logical next step to some of their very top quality classy point and shoots with "Zeiss" glass. But maybe that's pushing it. Anyway the first thing that has to happen is to see if the CM is the smash that i think it will be. A camera you hate to put in the point and shoot category. With a lens that does not come off. I don't think a digital back would be doable that small. Otherwise I'd say an option would be to come out with wide, tele and normal versions of the CM. And a zoom for the mass market "lets make money!!!". All of which could be converted to digital with the other back. Or wide, tele and normal versions of the CM analog. Then wide, tele and normal versions of the CM digital. Eight cameras count em eight! Then it would take up almost existing shelf space as the Leica M's that are out now! But should be on the bottom row with the cocoa puffs so the kids can grab em!
