Subject: [Leica] New Tri-X in XTOL 1:3 times? JOBO recommendations?

I have shot a half-dozen rolls of the new Tri-X, plus a few rolls of the old,
and will be processing both by hand and in a JOBO.

Anyone have suggestions for times for doing this 1:3 in EXTOL for the new
emulsions? I did some shooting down at Monterey and am looking forward to the
results.

I did some experiments with TCN the other day, following Ansel's procedures for
characterizing the film, and was pretty underwhelmed with it compared to the
Tri-X and Agfra 100 I had done previously. Just the experience of getting the
scanner software out of the way so I could see the exposure curves was difficult
but I seem to have managed to get results that look "right".

So it's back to souping film. Fortunately I will soon have a bathroom I can make
into a for-real darkroom, at least for film processing, so I'll have control of
chemistry and a consistant place to process - instead of the island in the
kitchen (boy will my wife be happy).
