As far a I could understand from what I read on the LUG, you are an "authority" on the LUG and the shots you present are nice. This makes me very much apreciate the encouragement you gave me. Another LUGer also mentionned the fact that I could be more strict in the editing of what I present. Of course it will not be easy as everyone has his own taste, and for instance some appreciated the blurred shots, when others don't. Another point is the goal that I am pursuing: develop my experience in humanist photography and try to find an assignment as a volunteer photographer in an NGO. For that reason, I think that I shall keep most of the Yemen photos actually presented on the site. Anaway when I refresh the site by including new shots (hopefully after my coming travel to Morocco), I shall try to "purge" the lowest impact shots in order to improve the overall quality. ___________________________________________ Dominique Lebreton Sciez, France email : df.lebreton@wanadoo.fr web site: www.dlphoto.net - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of bdcolen Sent: dimanche, 28. septembre 2003 19:52 To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: RE: [Leica] Check out my brand new site Welcome, Dominique - Since you asked for comment...If I were you, I would go through each of the portfolios and cut way back on the number of images. In each of those groups - except for blurred vision, where my advice is "get your glasses checked!" - you have some truly outstanding images, photos that can hold their own, anywhere, any time. Two that immediately come to mind are the shot from Geneva of the walking men with shadows - a truly stunning image! As is the reflection shot right beneath it. But each of the portfolios also contains a majority of what are, compared to the best images, fairly mediocre shots. (And who doesn't take those?) So if I were you, and had a number of really outstanding images, I'd cut way back on the ones that aren't so outstanding, because, unfortunately, your best work puts them to shame.;-) Thank for sharing - you have some terrific work there. I am using Leica M's and I dedicate my free time to the practice of B&W photography. This summer I decided to build my own web site to exhibit my work and I have just released this site last week. Take a look at: http://www.dlphoto.net I will welcome your comments and would be happy to receive critique from my "peers". Thanks in advance. ___________________________________________ Dominique Lebreton Sciez, France email : df.lebreton@wanadoo.fr web site: www.dlphoto.net - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
