This suggestion worked for me a week ago after a fruitless early morning attempt to get some slides of a Green Heron in a marshy area of a local park. The subject critter stayed in the shadows or behind some branches playing, no doubt, a waiting game with me. So after about forty five minutes and 30 wasted frames, I packed up and began to walk away. Then I turned around. On a bush behind my position in full sunlight was a second bird. The tripod went up, the camera came out of the pack, and the bird cooperated.
