One of my favorite combos for close-up work on flowers, pealing paint, tree bark, facial details like lips, eyes, and etc. is a lens that will focus to about that range with 90mm of focal length. It is an SLR zoom with "macro" capability. A 90mm Leica Elmar M with close-focus capability and todays glass will be a very welcome addition. Look closely at the pics and you will see the most compact and beautifull little 90 you have ever seen in an M-mount, plus a bayonet-on attachment that will give you close focus, full frame shots of your favorite rose or orchid, or your baby's nose and eyes, or their little hands in yours. This lens will be a winner for sure.
