Yep, CLA will do the trick, those VF's should be brighter then the SLR's. You may be amazed after a good cleaning. I send my stuff to Sherry Krauter, I'm on the East Coast. West Coast I believe DAG is the place. Check out the LHSA web site for recommended shops.

My M2 is pretty bright and I loved it so much that I eventually sold my
Nikons (FEs, F2, F3). Perhaps you should first get it CLAed by a good
Leica tech.
