   In the late 1970s I met Eugene Smith. From that dramatic
moment I remember two anecdotes.

   1. He said that someone once gave him a 4x5 camera. He
said he found it an excellent place to hide a small bottle
of scotch.

   2. He also said that he noticed the strong influence of
classical music when he printed. I he played Bartok, his
prints got darker, and darker and darker...
