There is a film out now, I saw a review of it on Ebert last Sunday night, about
the conductor of the Berlin Symphony and his interrogation about why he stayed
rather than leave. Harvy Keitel is one star and I forget the title.

Ultimately, as I understand it, the film is ambiguous about whether this man was
pro-Nazi or not -- it's refreshing not to be told but to let us make up our
minds. We can hope the film was reasonably accurate - but even as a drama
without historical basis I'd be interested.

I can understand the passions involved here - I feel the same about Jane Fonda -
it's my own particular take.
