Thanks, Bill - I don't know about the developing, as I send the film
out. (I mean I know that they use, but I don't think they're doing
anything to make it all the same...Consistency of exposure? Yes. And
then scanning to get the density I want and printing for a similar look.
I recently replaced my dead Polaroid 4000 with the current Microtex
version. What an improvement in terms of scanning time. And now that I'm
finally getting used to it, I find that the software is better, in that
it's easier to do most of the substantial manipulation in the scan
before it hits the hard drive.

I marvel at the consistency of results using different films, different
EI values, different lenses, different cameras, and (I know Maine light)
how many different lights. Is that mostly original exposure, film
development, scanning manipulation or a combination? It makes for a heck
of a nice album.
