According to the photo editor of LIFE at the time, Peter Howe, the late
80s was a time of revival for the Leica M camera. A lot of young people
were discovering it, and black and white, as a way to distinguish their
work from the masses. And some pretty wonderful stuff was being
produced.

Unfortunately, that era is probably ending. Not only because of AF and
digital, but a lack of places to put their images!

I have no idea how long it will be before the premature predictions of
the Leica M's death will come to pass, but no matter how long it is, it
will be too soon.

There are three kinds of men. The ones that learn by reading. The few
who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric
fence. - Will Rogers.
