Hello Ian:

Yes you can adapt an M lens to an R body. Obviously the longer lenses that
were adaptable to visoflex (and work at infinity) can go on an R body with
the right Viso to R adapter. Leitz also made adapters that pemitted the
shorter M lenses to adapt to a Visoflex but only for macro work as the lens
extension is too long for anything near infinity. You will get macro images.
You will not get "very tight headshot portrait stuff" unless it be the
pimple on the subject's nose, enlarged to frightening proportions.    ;-)
