My dear friend, Rev. Sterling Minturn, whose family is from Natchitoches LA,
has always told me that the correct pronunciation looks something like
Nagidouche. Is?

Of course, the last syllable (two if you count the silent "es") of the
written name looks perilously like a yiddish word that means something else.
