When is Women in Medicine due?<<< Hi Alastair, The new publisher is absolutely first class and surprised me with books in stores a month before I expected, a most interesting event to say the least. Much to my surprise a doctor phoned and asked if he could have a book signed if he brought it to my home. When he arrived he had 3 copies for gifts and cleaned out the store. He ordered another half dozen and went on at great length how great the book was. So is the new publisher working out? You betcha! :-) Not only that, but they've produced a great looking photography book. "Women in Medicine" which Sandy Carter and I shot, is for release a year from now, however, it may be short listed to spring '04. :-) Which I'd rather have. Then the promo hype spin off from "Doctors' Work" draws a attention to the new one as a follow-up while people are aware of the first. We'll see. Response has been great so far with e-mails of congratulations and orders, sure makes for a nice feeling that I did something folks really appreciate. There are two types responding, doctors commenting how I've portrayed them in their profession. And photographers about the quality of the photography. As much as I appreciate doctor's praise, it's comments from photographers that have the greatest meaning for me as it's my peers that count. Particularly when many have purchased.:-) And that really counts. ;-) Have a look at the revamped website for Doctors' Work and you'll see the cover and few samples.
