Bob,

Most of my work is booksized prints integrated with my own writing. I love to
shoot for my journals, which are standard 3-ring binders available from Light
Impressions. Contrary to your experience, I've become very sensitive to the
differences in 3-1/2x5/4x6/5x7 prints produced by various cameras and printing
systems. Quality does make a difference. A Leica print made with my dedicated
Omega A2 35mm enlarger jumps off the page. A digital print out of a middling
HP printer -- unless the content is extraordinary so you don't much notice the
technical aspect -- is merely good.
