Akhil,
I use an Eureka Auto Drybox (google this). It´s a small plastic closet with
an hygrometer and a drying module that cycles between extracting water from
the closet and releasing it to the outside. Must use all of 4 watts and
keeps the contents at 30% RH. Bought a couple (they stack) four years ago
and have had no trouble at all. Good thing, since I live two blocks from the
beach (85% RH) in Rio.

Regards,
Amilcar

Assunto: [Leica] Dry chamber for storing camera gear

Hello Everyone,

Are any list members storing their cameras in a DIY dry box ?

By dry box I don't mean air-tight box with a container or two of silica
gel, rather a temperature and humidity controlled chamber,
something like a fridge with built in humidity control. I need one for
storing some camera gar in the Tropics.

The commercial ones I have seen are intended for lab/industrial use and are
very expensive.

Regards,
Akhil
