Subject: Re: [Leica] MP's top plate

And here I am going through rolls of negatives, trying to pick out a
decent shot for each week I was a way. Most taken with a Leica and I seem
to be getting worse and worse. No value for my money here. I can comfort
myself with the fact that I put out my money years ago and they actually
have paid for themselves. If I manage to get a good shot now, it's just a
bonus, right?

All this going on back and forth. I've been wondering. Why do I like
Leicas? Negatives with my Nikkors are just as nice, different, but a-ok.

It's the "click" they make. I like quiet cameras. It might be that they
are so quiet because they are made so well. Could be. But it is that soft
"click" that keeps me coming back to them.

I guess it's just summer ... we haven't had a lot of other things to bang
around.

I might value a bright viewfinder, analog meter readout and continuously-variable shutter, someone else values automated features, which I despise. The other guy will get more value for the money with a Konica, I'd get more for my money with an M5.
