Now adjusting the rangefinder for infinity was fun but tedious. However when I tried to mount the lens, replacing the 50mm elmar, I noticed that when the lens was properly screwed in, focusing was not as smooth as usual, difficult even. Turns out the diameter of the cam on the Summicron is slightly bigger than on the Elmar. The lens cam therefore rubs on the arm of the camera s rangefinder cam. Now anybody has seen this before? Short of shaving off part of the rangefinder (or lens!) cam, anyone has a trick or solution. When did Leitz switch from thin to wide lens focusing cam? Thanks in advance Robert (Un chevalier sans blason) - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
