No one has mentioned it yet, but it seems to me that Leica's new policy of
not selling parts will have another, far-reaching effect. It means that grey
market importers will not be able to offer third-party warranties on the
cameras they sell. If all Leicas (in the U.S.) have to go back to Leica U.S.
for repair because the supply of parts has been cut off, Leica U.S. can take
a hardnosed approach to servicing pieces that were sold grey market.
