On this site, we can read the following quotation from the designer and 
maker of the watch 'Simplicity': "In the watchmaking craft, it is 
easier to make something more complicated than it needs to be."

This is true of a great many things.  Jokingly referred to as creeping 
featurism, I find it one of the most annoying aspects of modern product 
design.  It's largely why I don't own a digital camera.  And it's why I 
love using Leica rangefinders.
