Miller's Crossing was shot in New Orleans, when I was free-lancing. No big contracts around, so when I saw a casting call, I went for it. The Coen Brothers! woo-hoo! Anyhow, I read for the part of an Irish Police Seargent. At the time I was kinda hefty, ( a situation that recurs in my life) so I fit the part to a T. I was in a valiant effort to get rid of the baggage, and I did! Unfortunately, the casting director took one look at my new svelte self, and sent me out to be an extra. When you see the film there is a scene where the Captain is talking to someone, and a blue blur passes behind him, out of focus (oof, for you photogs) I am the blue oof blur! Then later, there's a scene where we break into a Casino, about 100 cops rush in. In this scene, I am the foreground OOF guy blurring past the camera. Finally my big scene is where we (the Chicago Police Department) are attacking a warehouse. If you look carefully, in the trucking shot as everyone is firing pistols, I am right behind the 1927 Ford. No puffs are coming from my pistol, because it is made of wood. If you pause the video, you can almost make me out. I have a moustache and glasses. I am also blue in color, because that day it was 28 degrees out. What? Leave show biz? Never! Here's a shot of me in character. http://www.sonc.com/cop.htm SonC - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
