BTW I upgraded 5 days ago to the new Minolta elite scan 5400, and I'm now in the learning/adaption process. My first impression is that it is a very good scanner. see also this review: http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews/interactive/Scanners/Minolta/page_1.htm. So, if you scan a 35mm image (1x1.5 inches roughly) and want to print an uncropped 10x15 inch image, you need to scan at 1500 to 3000 dpi. What I do not know is the equivalence of "dpi" between film and flatbed scanners. I have always had the feeling that the 2800 dpi or so mid market film scanners are better for film than the 2400 or 3200 dpi flatbeds -- but I cannot say for sure. I am posting this not as a final answer, but looking for confirmation from a scanning guru. It is a question posed as a statement. - -- Clive http://clive.moss.net > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us > [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of khmiska > Sent: Wednesday, July 16, 2003 9:57 PM > To: LUG > Subject: [Leica] Scanning slides > > Question - should I scan at still higher resolution?
