Hi Steve:

I've been trying to stay out of this, but I would really like to know how
many who are taking part in this discussion actually lived through the whole
mess - I mean from the early thirties and onward.   It would perhaps be
interesting to know that - at least it would to me, who did.

And please, people, don't take the question as my way of finding fault with
anything said here - that is the business of those who have previously
posted.
