Subject: Re: [Leica] Full circle with Nikons NOW BD's Leica SLR list

Count me in as another Nikon SLR/Leica SLR/Leica M user - only two feet and
so many camps.

My 'peak' Nikon system was based on F2, Nikkormat EL and FM bodies. I ran
the F2 alongside an M4-P very happily until I got the bug for R glass and
chopped in the F2 and lenses for an R4 24/60Macro/180 combination. Lenses
exchanged at the rate of two and a half used Nikons for one new Leica.

Built up R lens over the last 20 years, bought an R8 after the bugs were
ironed out. Traded M4-P for original M6 (for the metering which I still
think is one of the best general purpose metering systems) in 1986 and am
still happily shooting that M6 with my original Summilux (the reason I 'went
Leica' in the first place.

When I came to set up my school of photography I bought a Nikon D100 body
with a Nikon 60mm Macro (always used the 55 as a standard on the F2) and a
17-35zoom. A ex-colleague donated an FE with motor drive and three lenses
for teaching to which I added a 55 f3.5 AI Micro-Nikkor (not the forever
collapsing f2.8 Micro-Nikkor - I have used and disposed of 3 of those!).

My wife is still a Nikon user and so we have a thoroughly well-balanced
digital/film Leica/Nikon household!
