Which is not to say that they aren't stunning photos, only to say that they are stunning photos of a bunch of "poor" people. Oh, there are poor people in the world? The Catholic Bishop of Beziers had refused a demand to give up the Cathar heretics within the town. Thereupon the crusaders' general, Simon de Montfort, took the town and asked Amaury how to distinguish between the heretics and the faithful, in response to which the Abbot gave his famous order, "Kill them all, for the Lord will know his own."
