Yes cheapness was the point. And utter simplicity.
And ability to fine tune was my personal discovery. That worked
amazingly well for me.
With only two chemicals i was able to by trial and error understand very
fully both Metol and Sodium Sulfite. Their effects on film. With
hydroquinone in there and a restrainer I'd not know what the heck was
going on. But I never understood grammar!
