Almost every small village we passed through had a MacDonald's or Pizza
King or the like.  I kid you not.  And we made a loop of the coast, Dublin
to Waterford to Cork to Kerry and up the West Coast to Donegal, then back
through Cavan and down a bit of the East Coast to Dublin.

Every bit of beef we had in Ireland was grossly overcooked though the meat
itself was quite good.  The Irish idea of "rare" equates to the USian
"well-done", I suspect.  But the beef in stews was most tasty.
