On page 103 the author writes, "He (HCB) preferred to use rubber jam jar covers instead of lens caps, for example, and tied them with to his Leica with a length of shoelace. She (his wife) also discovered that that he used red nail varnish to mark his favorite shutter speed and distance - 1/125 of a second and 4 meters." Cordially Kurt Miska - -- Kurt H.
