 From what I gather, the f1.5 lens is a rare Nikkor lens in the 
collector realm.

I don't know about performance, as I don't have one.  McKeown's lists it 
as expensive as the 50f1.1 (which I do have and love) - and the last 
selling price for a 50f1.1 on ebay was $5,000.  The 98 McKeown price is 
$1200 to $1500 US.
