Walk in the evenings.. it is cooler... Otherwise you will find advice to use SLO as a jumpong off point for other venues... Thursday night is Santa Maria BBQ.. In the streets the "vendors" set up stands to hawk stuff , and there is food everywhere.... Note: Santa Maria BBQ... Beef is dry rubbed with salt, pepper, other spices, and garlic for several days. Then the BBQ is fired up with oak logs... then a slow roast, followed by a fast ingestion... VERY good.....
