Yes, RAW is the best for photoshoping, but it takes extra software to open.
One more extra step is not on the minds of normal non-professional photo
folks. Sometimes explaining TIFF is hard enough.

Speaking of Digilux's, I saw a couple of them watching the Stanley Cup on
TV.
