Omigawd!  That looks like a hell of a lot of work.  I have
done the Leeds-Liverpool Canal but only as a passenger
on one of the loooooong boats. Taking pictures.  The locks
there were not as narrow, I think.  In some places the canal
itself is narrow for a length and there are turnouts to wait
while a boat passes in the opposite direction.  There are also
some wiiiide turning basins to reverse directions.
