The optical unit is so far retracted into the lens I cannot see how it 
could be a body problem. At that point the cam helical threads are 
about to disappear into the lens body. My vote is to take it back and 
look for another one since you just bought it. If not then take it to 
Leica USA in New Jersey but it does not make sense fro you to have to 
pay for the repair.

I have done some experimentation with my lens and if you apply a 
sideways pressure to the lens mount, it does bind up. As it is fine off 
the camera, and is the same on both cameras, I would say the lens's 
bayonet mount is bent. Perhaps it was dropped or banged before you 
bought it. Take it back...
