It arrived in time for last weekend and last week's trip to London. Normally, when I get a "new" camera I test the shutter speeds etc. by shooting a series of pictures of a garden gnome, but this time I knew that the camera would be OK since I was buying from a trusted source, so I just went out and took pictures. Saturday the weather in Zurich became positively spring-like, so I walked along the lake and in the city. These two shots are from the lakefront. As is evident, the 50mm Summilux is not 100% flare-proof, but I still like the images: http://www.wajsman.com/2003_10.jpg http://www.wajsman.com/2003_10alt1.jpg This one is from Lindenhof, a park in the centre of Zurich: http://www.wajsman.com/2003_10alt2.jpg The main and alt1 and alt2 all with the CL, 50mm Summilux and Kodachrome 64. One of the questions I had about the CL was whether I would be able to focus it in critical situations, with its short rangefinder base. This portrait of London LUGger Steve Patriquen, taken in a pub in London Tuesday evening, at a distance of about 1 metre, wide open or close to it, dispelled my doubts: http://www.wajsman.com/2003_10alt3.jpg (CL, 50mm Summilux, Fuji Neopan 1600) The complete PAW index is at: http://www.wajsman.com/indexpaw2003.htm and comments are welcome and appreciated as always.
