I don't know John. I cracked my M4 shell royally a couple of years back. I 
sent it to Solms and they did a wonderful job. I really don't think they 
just repaired the shell, I've looked and looked and cannot find a trace of 
it ... but maybe they did. I'm pretty sure I got another shell, if it was a 
"new" one or one they had lying around from a camera that was wasted in 
some other respect, I don't know. But they sure did a nice job for ... 
around 400 USD (and that included the works. I let them go over the whole 
camera as long as it was in ... 1 year warranty and all).
