Actually, it is snuffed out. I suppose my wife put it out so carefully out
of habit (she smokes, I don't ... I use snuff). In Scandinavia cigarettes
are so so expensive, that one will snuff it out when you see you can't
smoke any more, ... like at a meal, but in such a way that it can be
re-lit. Why she does that I do not know. She smokes about 2 cigarettes a
day, if that, so a pack will usually last her a month. Over and above
that, I buy cigarettes for her in Zimbabwe where they cost a whole .10 (10
cents) a pack ... go figure

I'm not the smoker ... and I RARELY get to see all that fat, so I'll make
it :) Besides, if you pack in enough wine and spirits ... doesn't that
balance out the equation? Opening up your blood vessels and all like wine
and whisky does?
