It does - you just have to take the Epson CD and disregard it.  There
may be a way to make them work, but Epson's website offers no clue.
After wrestling with that for a while, I took Johnny D's advice.  I
downloaded the updated OS-X Twain driver from the Epson site, then
purchased Vuescan and installed them in that order.  Seems to work 
just dandy so far...
