Impassioned rhetoric! Whoa!

Since some had trouble with the link, I've put a link on our home page to
make it easier. Just go to www.acmefoto.com and click on the link titled
Trivia, in the Services column.

That should make it easier. ;-)

Your impassioned rhetoric has won me over. Now where did I put that link?

Okay, guys, I've already apologized for posting the messages about Trivia,
but at the same time, I think I'm going to take half the apology back. Enuf
already. Gimmee a break.

First, you can go see the image I posted without doing anything. I've posted
in on our Web site, yes, and that's my choice. I can post the image anywhere
I want. As you can post your images anywhere you like. Just because it's
there, doesn't obligate you to do anything.

If you want to guess or answer the questions posed with the image, that's
your choice. No one is forcing you to buy anything to see the image, or to
come back to the LUG and talk about the image, or do anything about it. At
the same time, no one is forcing you not to talk about it, either, and it is
a wonderful bit of history about Leica, and worth talking about. It's no
worse than a discussion about 40 year old busted-up Lucas electronics,
broken-down Minis, worn-out Hermes bags and ancient typewriters, and
whatever the heck else, oh yes, German-made vs. over-the-border Bosch
electronics, that the Forum busied itself with yesterday! I mean, good lord,
let's have some fun! Why not?

So I'm not going to fall all over myself apologizing about it. If you want
to look at the picture and talk about it, fine. If you want to send me an
email and tell me what it is, that's fine, too, and I'll actually pay you
for doing it. That's my choice. Anyone else here could do the same thing to
encourage the list members to look at their pictures. Offer a prize for
doing so. Usually that isn't necessary, since the pictures are their own
reward. (That's supposed to be a compliment).

Maybe I should have announced it this way: "Your Presence at A Highbrow
Discussion of Leica Collector Ephemera Requested." Yes, maybe that might
have gone off better. Sorry. I chose the wrong model. It should have been
Antiques Roadshow UK, instead of Wheel of Fortune. ;-)
