Tina - that makes sense ( not the law but the reason for the restriction 
banner).  I know that when the wife and I do get to Paris I'll take 
pictures but these rules ( and the ones in Quebec) make it less than 
pleasant to do street photography.  That being said the only time I was 
confronted about taking street photos was in my own neighborhood - 
literally 200 yds from my house - I was taking a picture of a neighbors 
shubbery as he had done an Edward Scissor Hands thing with them.  He 
literally ran out of his house demanding to know what I was doing - I was 
on the street not on his property.  What a loon!  Although I wonder if he 
was in the witness protection program?
